I absolutely cannot stress enough the importance of brows! If I am going to do nothing else to my face, I’ll still fill my brows! Yet somehow I feel like they are totally overlooked by many beauty savvy women, even makeup artists! Brows don’t have to be crazy strong, but they are an anchor for the rest of your facial features. Don’t believe me? Google “Celebrities Without Eyebrows” – but only if you’re feeling brave. It’s terrifying, right?
Now then, my brows are a little light, my current base hair color is a little darker than my natural. So it’s a given that I may want to darken them a little. But even if they were the ideal shade, unless you have super thick brows, it’s a good idea to fill them just a little! As a general rule of thumb, I say if you are wearing any type of eye makeup whatsoever, particularly eye liner, then you should probably fill your brows.
You can definitely go for thicker, more dramatic brows if you want, but for the sake of this post I’m going to focus on a very natural, slightly enhanced brow.
There’s three measurements I’m going to take when determining what/where to accent:
1) From the side of my nose straight up
2) A 45 degree angle from the side of my nose to find my arch
3) a 90 degree angle from the side of my nose to find the end of my brow (note: you’re not going to extend your brow that far, but this gives you a good idea of the circumference of the eye area you’re working with)
Come back very soon – I’m going to talk about my favorite products to use! In the meantime leave a comment below with any questions you might have!
